Leeds United transfer exit sealed as influential player sets for medical on 5-year deal

With his transfer to West Ham confirmed, Crysencio Summerville is set to sign a five-year contract on Saturday, according to Florian Plettenberg.
On August 3, a journalist from Sky Sports Germany reported via X that the Dutchman would sign a contract that day that would last until 2029.
The Elland Road hero will only cost a maximum of £25 million as part of the transfer window, making him the most recent player to depart Daniel Farke’s team after Archie Gray’s £40 million move to Tottenham [Fabrizio Romano, 2 July].
On August 2, Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports announced that the winger has finished his medical evaluation with the Irons.
Leeds United star has completed West Ham medical
The 22-year-old was always going to be in demand during the transfer window after being awarded the Championship Player of the Season, so his departure is hardly the biggest surprise in and of itself.
Under Farke, he had a breakout season, scoring 21 goals across all competitions to spark attention from teams like Chelsea and Liverpool [The Sun, 28 May].
But the fact that he is being sold even after Gray turned out to be the first big-money asset out the door is a greater disappointment.
And Whites fans won’t be overjoyed to see him go for what looks like a cut-price fee so soon after talkSPORT had reported on 30 July that they were holding out for £40m and set to see off the threat from the Hammers.

The focus at Elland Road will be on how the money is used to replace a significant portion of the attacking production from the previous season, as it appears that any potential late collapse has been avoided at the medical testing stage.
With Glen Kamara having already left for Rennes and the possibility of further big departures [Daily Mail, July 1], recruiting new players is critical since the season is about to begin against Portsmouth in only one week.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are expected to prevail in the pursuit of a “exciting” star who has the potential to reject a move to the top division.
