Carson Beck injury update: Georgia QB likely to miss playoff

Carson Beck, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, has suffered an injury that will likely keep him out of the College Football Playoff. The injury occurred during the SEC Championship Game against Texas, when a defender grabbed his arm while he was throwing,

Beck has been exploring surgery options and is expected to miss the playoff ². This is a significant blow to the Bulldogs, as Beck has been a key player for the team, leading them to a 24-3 record over the past two seasons ².

Beck’s injury is a UCL injury, which is a common injury for quarterbacks ¹. The UCL, or ulnar collateral ligament, is a ligament in the elbow that provides stability to the joint. Injuries to the UCL can be serious and may require surgery.
