Arne Slot espère utiliser sa « bonne connexion » avec une jeune star du Paris Saint-Germain pour l’attirer à Anfield.

La première fenêtre de recrutement du Néerlandais en tant qu’entraîneur de Liverpool a vu Federico Chiesa rejoindre l’équipe pour seulement 12,5 millions de livres sterling et Giorgi Mamardashvili devrait rejoindre l’équipe l’été prochain.

Liverpool a également raté sa chance de recruter Martin Zubimendi, le milieu de terrain espagnol ayant rejeté les Reds pour rester dans son club d’enfance, la Real Sociedad.

Arne Slot s’intéresse à Xavi Simons

Il a été révélé que Slot va utiliser sa connexion avec le jeune joueur du PSG Xavi Simons pour le faire venir à Anfield.

La journaliste de Bild Yvonne Gabriel a parlé de Simons et des projets actuels qui l’entourent dans le podcast FC Bayern Insider.

Gabriel a déclaré : « Le PSG aimerait le vendre l’année prochaine, mais Xavi se voit dans un club encore plus grand.

« Son prix, qui dépasserait déjà les 80 millions d’euros, est utopique pour Leipzig. Mais avec des sommes comme celles-là, la Premier League entre naturellement en jeu, la destination de rêve de Xavi, comme on dit, c’est pourquoi il a engagé un nouveau conseiller il y a un an, l’Anglais Darren Dyne.

« Il est juste de dire que toute la ligue a depuis longtemps Xavi sur son radar. Liverpool était également très intéressé par lui cet été, il y a de bonnes relations avec l’entraîneur Arne Slot. »

Le joueur de 21 ans est également devenu un habitué de l’équipe nationale néerlandaise, aux côtés de Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo et Ryan Gravenberch, et a inscrit un brillant premier but lors de la demi-finale de l’Euro 2024 contre l’Angleterre cet été.

Tous les quatre ont été convoqués dans l’équipe provisoire pour la trêve internationale d’octobre, et il existe un potentiel débat sur un transfert vers le Merseyside.

C’est un milieu offensif talentueux qui a inscrit 23 buts et effectué 23 passes décisives pour le RB Leipzig la saison dernière, où il est actuellement prêté, et 35 pour le PSV la saison précédente lors de sa saison décisive.
