Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones: “I Don’t Want To Talk About It” Answer Goes Viral

Undoubtedly, the Dallas Cowboys’ off-season has been intriguing. The Cowboys had high hopes going into the postseason for the Super Bowl three years in a row, but they have failed to live up to those expectations each time.
The goal of the 2024 off-season has been to compensate the elite players who have recently contributed to their achievement. But it can be a sensitive topic.
According to the Athletic’s Jon Machota:
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on contract talks with CeeDee Lamb: “They’re just progressing, in my mind.”
On Dak Prescott’s contract: “I would say that we’re talking. I would not have a legitimate progress point there at all. And I really don’t have it for Lamb, either. And it’s not negative. I’m just thinking it wouldn’t do any good to talk about progress.”
One closer than the other? “Not necessarily. But I just don’t want to talk about it.”
Both Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are looking to become one of, if not the highest paid players at their respective positions.
“I think he’s gonna be the first quarterback to get to $60 million,” Aikman said to McAfee. “The longer this goes, the more I think he’ll be playing somewhere else. If it continues to drag on and he plays great and then the Cowboys come in late and say ‘Now we wanna pay you,’ I don’t know where his head will be at that point.”
It will be interesting to see how/when/if these contracts get done. Will Dallas lose one, or possibly both of their stars within the next year or two?
